JACKIE'S SURPRISE AWARD JACKIE'S SURPRISE AWARD

Rangers photographer Jackie Clowes says she was lost for words after being chosen as the Oldham Amateur RL Unsung Hero for 2017. The surprise presentation, by local league Secretary Phil Bradbury, took place before last Saturday's home match against Thornhill.

Jackie said she was "surprised and honoured" to get the award in appreciation of her tireless efforts to photograph the exploits of rugby league players in the town. She'll be found on the touchline of Rangers open age and junior matches most weekends and takes photos at other clubs and Oldham league finals aswell.

She even took part in the 30 hour touch rugby record at Shaw Hall Bank road two years ago and took photos throught the night.

The award is well deserved. Jackie is an important member of our club and everyone realises how lucky we are to have her.

Last year the Unsung hero award went to Rangers stalwart Chris Garforth.
