WEMBLEY WAY WEMBLEY WAY

Two of our lads are heading to Wembley after starring in Salford’s semi-final win over the Wolves at the weekend. James Greenwood (above) came off the bench to score a crucial second half try while Mark Flanagan (below) was instrumental throughout as the Red Devil’s reached their first Challenge Cup final in 51 years. There was disappointment for James’ brother Joe though as his Wigan side lost to Leeds in the other semi-final.

It sets up a fairytale ending for Flan who’s announced he’s retiring at the end of this season. Having played for Bradford, Wigan, West Tigers, St Helens and Salford, Flan has enjoyed a career to be proud of, including two Grand Final appearances with one winners ring for the Saints. So far a Challenge Cup final appearance has eluded him so it will be a fantastic end to his career to walk out at Wembley. He’s always been a regular at the club and a big supporter of our events and the club wishes him every success in life off the pitch.
